About Me

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My name is Michael Carroll (he/him) and I am a clinical social worker. I am licensed in the State of Michigan as a social worker (LMSW-C). I have comprehensive training in delivering psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy. My experience as a social worker dates back to 2019.

My clinical style is warm and engaging. I view creativity as being such an important aspect of psychotherapy. I believe the therapeutic relationship is also a vital aspect to making positive growth. No matter the reason someone is seeking treatment, I think being able to openly discuss it is a priority. I have an individualized treatment style that is thoughtful and I am curious about your experiences.

Psychoanalytic training has taught me that we all have complexity in how we think and behave. There is a reason behind how we approach the world. Sometimes this has roots in our past and other times it is a more recent trauma. I think through exploration, we can develop insights into how we experience ourselves and others. I have experience working with folx from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of presentations. I specialize in working with people with mood disorders (depression and anxiety), as well as people who have experienced trauma. Contact me for a consultation to start moving forward.
